My Education

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]So I started out in 2014 with a home machine and then when I got hooked up with John and Lora at Superior Cleaning Solutions I started taking classes and getting my IICRC and ICRA Certifications. You can read more about my starting out here. I attend classes for 2 or 3 days of intense learning and hands on, and then take a test to see if I pass for the certification. Some cleaners go through this process and others do not, it is actually quite a topic of debate whether it’s worth spending thousands of dollars for these classes and certifications when people rarely ask about your certifications.

I am a member of several forums on the internet and groups on Facebook. This is the part I love. Great cleaners all gathered together to share and help one another grow to be the best business possible. There are people just starting out and people who have been in business for 50+ years. If I ever have a question or run into a situation I haven’t seen before I can have answers in just a few minutes from someone who has dealt with the situation before. It’s not just groups of people who don’t know what they are doing but actual seasoned and trained professionals, many of the instructors from these classes who work directly with carpet manufacturer’s, etc are in these groups. I am blessed to know and get to work alongside many of these amazing people

I carry a lot of knowledge in and of myself, but I also like to explain And help you as the customer understand as much as possible. I come with many visual aids as well as pictures, carpet samples, and stories. I have spent a great deal of time gathering together the information that I have to be able to best educate you. I want you to be able to understand, I want you to ask questions if you have them.  I am told quite often how much more sense things make now that __________  was explained to them in that way.

On to spots and stains. A spot is some kind of mark or discoloration in the carpet that is removed through normal cleaning. You are not charged for this. A stain on the other hand is something that remains after the cleaning process and generally requires some kind of special treatment to take care of. The solutions and products used to remove some of these stains can be expensive and time consuming. You can read more about my pricing structure here, but be sure to call for an accurate quote. I take great pride in the abilities that I have with stain removal and would love to show you more. You can read more about pet stain and odor removal here, be sure to call me if you want to know more, I have a great visual aid to explain all of this better.

If you ever have questions or run into problems, don’t be afraid to reach out. I really am here to help you and look forward to a long-lasting relationship with everyone here in the community. you can chat with me here on the website, call or text my phone number,  or even just send me an email to Travis@outwestcarpet.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

From Humble Beginnings

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I started cleaning carpets in 2014 back in Monticello Utah. I was sitting in church one day trying to think of what I could do for some extra income and that is what came to mind. I got started for less than $500. I bought a Bissell home cleaning machine and started cleaning carpets. I was still working full-time as an IT specialist so this was mostly a nights and weekends kind of thing. As a result of the short amount of time I would usually bring a helper along to help me pack things in and out and help me clean things up at the end of the day.

One of the guys that was working with me one day used to have his own carpet cleaning business. I didn’t think much of it but he kept bragging about this product and that product that he could use to get all of the stains out that my machine left behind. He told me he got all this stuff from John up north. My equipment did an okay job but not as good as I wanted. So I jumped on the computer and pulled up Google and tried to find this John. After a little while of searching online I was able to find his business, Superior Cleaning Solutions.

Starting out with my $500 Bissel and having this as a side job I was making some pretty decent money for a side job, but now having over $10,000 worth of equipment and this now being my main source of income it can be stressful and challenging. If you want to know more about my pricing and how that is all broken out you can read this post here

John and his team at Superior Cleaning Solutions have been really great help to me. They are where I buy all of my equipment and solutions from and the service there is top notch. I owe everything I have now to John and his wife Lora and I’m very grateful for their help in getting me started in this business. Superior Cleaning Solutions is where I go for all of my carpet education classes as well as to get all of my supplies and equipment. Suppliers won’t sell to the public but if there is something you want I can get it for you and teach you how to use it. You can view his website here, and read more about my education and how I like to educate my customers here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”189,190,191,192,193,194,195,196″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

How Much Does Carpet Cleaning Cost?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I let people do the talking for me. As of December 2016 I have over 50 5-star Reviews online, more than double that of any other cleaner in Cedar City. That should tell you something. Now I understand wanting to know pricing. Listed below are ballpark prices only, as the price I can quote you in person may be cheaper than what is here. I price every job myself based on the time and materials it will take me to complete the job. Your satisfaction is guaranteed and I have a money back Guarantee as well, so you really have nothing to lose!

Please Call or Text me so I can come give you an accurate estimate 435-459-2189

Normally I am between $0.35 – $0.85 per square foot depending upon what is needed. See the pictures at the bottom of the article for more info. I offer discounts on larger homes and for people who need their homes cleaned multiple times per year.

Basic Cleaning ~ $0.45 Per Square Ft

Deep Cleaning ~$0.65 Per Square Ft

Add Protector ~$0.20 Per Square Ft

I often have people call and ask over the phone how much to charge to clean two rooms and a hall for example. That could vary anywhere from $50-$450 or even more. I always try to come and give an estimate rather than quoting a job on the phone to someone, there are too many factors to give an accurate quote over the phone. Sure I can tell them it might be $100 but then what happens when I show up to do the job and there are pet stains everywhere that need different solutions and equipment to take care of them properly?

I have structured my business and run it in a way that I can quote somebody a price up front and that never changes. The education and experience I carry,as well as my ability to educate the customer helps to make this a win-win for everyone. I have learned to recognize Possible situations and complications that can occur in the cleaning process and they can be addressed ahead of time, instead of in the middle of the job resulting in an upcharge. I have never had to tell a customer that it is going to be additional $$$$ because this or that happened that we didn’t see beforehand. You are buying security by choosing OutWest Carpet Cleaning. If something like that comes up, I will bite the cost and treat it as a learning experience.

I hate companies that use the whole bait and switch process. Tell you it is going to be 3 rooms for $99 then it’s an additional $7/room for power scrub and extra $5/room to vacuum and $10/room to deodorize etc, etc… I may appear more expensive up front, but for the value of service you are receiving and the time I will spend making sure you are happy is well worth the cost. Give me a call or message me from the website.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
